Usage method
The use of carbonization agents in casting can greatly increase the amount of scrap steel and reduce the waste of raw materials in the production process. Carbonizing agents can effectively reduce the amount of pig iron used, and in market applications, the vast majority of carbonization agents are suitable for electric furnace melting. A small portion of carbon enhancers with particularly fast absorption rates are used in the feeding method of blast furnaces and electric furnaces. The carbon enhancers should be added together with scrap steel and other furnace materials.
The correct usage method of carbon additive in induction furnace:
1: Using an electric furnace with a capacity of over 5T and stable raw materials, we recommend the dispersed addition method. According to the requirements of carbon content, according to the proportion of ingredients, add the carbon enhancer and metal furnace material together with each batch of materials to the lower part of the electric furnace. One layer of metal furnace material and one layer of carbon enhancer can achieve a carbon absorption rate of 95%. Do not slag the carbon enhancer when melting, otherwise it is easy to wrap in the waste residue and affect the carbon absorption;
2: Using a 3T medium frequency induction furnace with a single and stable raw material, we recommend the centralized addition method. When melting or leaving a small amount of molten iron in the furnace, the required carburizing agent should be added to the surface of the molten iron at once, and the metal furnace charge should be immediately added. The carburizing agent should be fully pressed into the molten iron to ensure that it is in full contact with the molten iron and has an absorption rate of over 90%. Directly adding the carburizing agent to the bottom of the furnace will cause excessive burning damage to the carburizing agent,;
3: When using a small medium frequency electric furnace with high carbon substances such as pig iron in the raw materials, we recommend adjusting the carbon additive. After melting of steel/molten iron, adjust the carbon content, and add the surface of steel/molten iron. The product can be dissolved and absorbed by eddy current stirring or manual stirring of molten steel (iron) during electric furnace melting. The carbon absorption rate is about 93%.
